Rain Postpones Intersection Work By A Week
PERKIOMEN TOWNSHIP PA – Rainy weather has postponed construction operations at, and the planned closure of, the Meyers Road and Miller Road intersection in Perkiomen Township until next Friday and Saturday (Aug. 17 and 18, 2018), according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The intersection will be closed and detoured from Friday at 7 p.m. through Saturday at 6 p.m. for excavation and paving as part of a project to improve travel and safety there. The work had earlier been scheduled for this weekend (Aug. 10-11).
During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Route 29, Perkiomen Avenue, Limerick Road, Township Line Road and Seitz Road for a detour. Local access will be maintained during the closure. All scheduled activities depend on the weather.
The work is part of an $11.3 million project involving Plank Road and Otts Road, Route 73 at Plank Road; and Meyers, Seitz, and Township Line roads in Skippack, Perkiomen and Limerick townships. H & K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor. The entire project is expected to finish in spring 2019.
