Local Police File DUI, Other Charges By Summons

SANATOGA PA – Charges of driving under the influence and related offenses have been filed by summons by Lower Pottsgrove police against a 57-year-old Pottstown man, the department reported Friday (Sept. 14, 2018), following an incident that occurred during late August.

Charged, according to police, was Robert Pfeiffer Jr. of the 1900 block of Mimosa Lane. Results of a certified breath test “confirmed he had been drinking and had a blood alcohol content above the legal limit,” according to their report on the township’s CrimeWatch website.

Police said on Aug. 25 (Friday) at about 10:39 p.m. they stopped a white Kia Optima traveling “at a high rate of speed” west on Bleim Road near Yerger Road. During an investigation police learned the vehicle was being operated by its owner, determined to be Pfeiffer.

While speaking with Pfeiffer, officers determined “he had been drinking. Field sobriety tests were administered to Pfeiffer, all of which he failed,” the website stated. He was arrested at the time and taken to the DUI Center at the Pottstown Police Department for certified testing.
