Meals On Wheels delivers prepared food to the home-bound

SANATOGA PA – The Sanatoga-based Meals On Wheels program operated by Family Services of Montgomery County has received a $7,000 donation from Exelon Corp. and its Limerick Generating Station. The Dec. 20 (2018; Thursday) check presentation by station Site Vice President Rick Libra (below, at right) brought the total of its employee and corporate donations this year to more than $300,000, the company said.

“Giving back and helping our community is very important, especially during the holiday season,” Libra noted. “We are proud to help Meals on Wheels provide essential nourishment to needy families at this time of year.”

The generating station’s annual charitable donations and community sponsorships support organizations that focus on education, the environment, health and human services, the arts and community development. Additionally, its employees typically volunteer more than 1,500 hours of service at local schools and non-profit organizations each year.

Limerick Generating Station is a nuclear energy facility located on Sanatoga Road in portions of Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick townships.
