Advanced Makes Final Pick-Up Run Wednesday
SCHWENKSVILLE PA – “A final sweep” of borough properties is expected Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2019) by outgoing Schwenksville contracted trash hauler Advanced Disposal Services, in an attempt to collect any remaining company-owned toters or recycling bins in property owners’ hands, the borough announced. Those who still have uncollected Advanced equipment are asked to put it curbside.
Advanced is making the equipment pick-up run as it exits a 10-year relationship with Schwenksville. It lost the contract for garbage disposal and recycling effective Jan. 1 (Tuesday), following Borough Council’s award of a three-year agreement to Whitetail Disposal Inc. of Perkiomenville. Anyone who has equipment that gets missed Wednesday is asked to call the borough office at 610-287-7442, or to send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The borough’s E-Pathways newsletter, e-mailed Monday (Jan. 7) to subscribers, also reminded property owners to avoid paying 2019 service invoices which it claimed were mistakenly sent out by Advanced’s billing department. Instead, it added, property owners should pay invoices distributed by Whitetail. Those who paid Advanced should request a refund from the company, it repeated.
Each dwelling unit in the borough is now required to have an account with Whitetail. Owners of apartment units who need additional equipment for their tenants must call Whitetail customer service at 610-754-0103, or send an e-mail to email@example.com, to establish separate unit accounts at an address, it said.
Property owners who live outside the borough but within Schwenksville zip codes, such as some Lower Frederick Township residents on Berger Lane, are not affected by the hauler change, the announcement noted. Advanced will continue to provide services to neighboring municipalities where it has contracts in force.
