Exceptional Women Nominees Sought For Tribute

Previous tribute events (at top) have attracted high attendance

POTTSTOWN PA – Area residents are being encouraged by the Pottstown-based YWCA Tri-County Area to nominate women from Montgomery, Chester and Berks counties to acknowledge their achievements in leadership, service, and careers, as well as for three specialty awards, in its 24rd annual Tribute to Exceptional Women. The event is scheduled for March 28 (2019; Thursday) at the RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve, Phoenixville.

Awards to be presented recognize career excellence in arts, business, education, health, racial justice, non-profits, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. It also seeks nominations for its Rising Star Award for women ages 18-30, the Coretta Scott King Award for an agent of change, and Sally Lee Lifetime Achievement Award, named for a former YWCA executive director.

The tribute annually commends women for their ability to lead by example, embrace community responsibility, and excel in their careers. Nomination forms are available online at www.ywcatricountyarea.org. Tickets for the event go on sale in February. The evening’s program includes cocktails and a popular silent auction and basket raffle, the tribute dinner, and presentation of awards.

Proceeds from Tribute to Exceptional Women support YWCA Tri-County Area’s mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
