Schuylkill Greenways Launches Updated Website
Bicyclists enjoy a ride on the Schuylkill River Trail
POTTSTOWN PA – An updated and transformed website from the Pottstown-based Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area now includes mobile device-friendly features, such as an interactive Schuylkill River Trail map, the group said Wednesday (Jan. 16) in announcing its new online presence.
As a result, it added, Schuylkill River Greenways eliminated its separate Schuylkill River Trail website. The renovated “schuylkillriver.org” now encompasses two websites into one, with bonus features.
Web visitors will first see a scrolling carousel of the Greenways’ upcoming events and updates. Anytime there is a “Trail Alert” such as a closed section, the information will appear in a bright red caution strip at the top of every page. From the home screen, users also can visit “The River Store” where items can be purchased directly from the website. It also provide links to more information about ongoing and upcoming projects, programs and events.
The non-profit Greenways intends to connect people and communities to the Schuylkill River and the Schuylkill River trail. The heritage area’s boundaries cover the Schuylkill River watershed in Schuylkill, Berks, Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties.
