Zieglerville Firm Wins Township Rental Bid
SANATOGA PA – Sacks And Sons Inc. of Zieglerville, a family-owned contracting company with a fleet of trucks, excavating, and paving equipment, was awarded an equipment rental bid Thursday night (Feb. 21, 2019) by the Lower Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners for vehicles and machinery needed to complete its township road paving needs in coming spring months.
Commissioners unanimously agreed to pay the company $103,945 for the equipment during the rental period. Township Manager Ed Wagner said that amount was only slightly higher than a similar bid award last year. Sacks was the only firm to have submitted a bid, he added.
The township annually repaves all or portions of several roads in greatest need of repair, relying on money received from its share of the state’s liquid fuels tax. Wagner said the board had not yet approved a list of roads to be repaved this year. The township also sets aside a portion of its budget for oil-and-stone-chip resurfacing of other roads.
