Lower Salford Lane Restrictions Start Monday

Lower Salford Lane Restrictions Start MondayLOWER SALFORD PA – Weekday lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled to occur for construction activities throughout May – from Monday (May 6, 2019) through May 31 (Friday), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily – on Route 113 between Sharon Lane and Old Morris Road in Lower Salford Township, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

The work is part of a project to replace three bridges that carry vehicles on Route 63 over Unami Creek, Ridge Valley Creek, and the East Branch of Perkiomen Creek in Upper and Lower Salford townships,

If necessary, general contractor H & K Group Inc. of Skippack PA also will work Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to complete the operations, PennDOT added.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. Backups and delays may occur. All scheduled activities depend on the weather and are subject to change.

Later this spring, Route 63 is expected to be closed and detoured through November for the construction of new bridges over Unami Creek and Ridge Valley Creek. Work is planned on both bridges simultaneously to minimize traffic impacts.

The Route 63 bridge over the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek will remain open during construction, as the bridge will be built in stages using half-width construction. This work is expected to begin this spring and finish in Spring 2020. The entire project, which costs $9.56 million, is expected to be completed in spring of 2021.
