Culinary Students Gained More Than Experience
STUDENTS, ELKS RECIPROCATE HELP – Pottstown High School culinary arts students recently volunteered their time and cooking skills to Pottstown Elks Lodge #814, and received a gift in return. The students worked at the lodge during a recent charity ball event, both assisting in the kitchen and serving the meal. Elks members, pleased by the effort and the students’ abilities, in return donated $500 to the culinary arts program. The money will be used to support other student learning opportunities, just like the on the Elks provided, the high school reported Sunday (May 5, 2019). On hand for the lodge’s check presentation were, from left, Jeff Delaney, Director of Career and Technology; Abigail Krause, high school senior and culinary student; Kevin Krause, Loyal Knight; and Steve Irick, culinary teacher.
