Paper Shredding Event Set June 8 At PVMS West
ZIEGLERVILLE PA – In a partnership with Wiggins Shredding, 147th state Legislative District Rep. Marcy Toepel will host a free paper-shredding event for district households June 8 (2019; Saturday) from 9 a.m. to noon at Perkiomen Valley Middle School West, 220 Big Road. The event, featuring an on-site industrial paper shredder, allows residents to shred up to four packing boxes of materials.
The district includes all or parts of Schwenksville and Green Lane boroughs, and the townships of West and Upper Pottsgrove, Upper and Lower Salford, Upper and Lower Frederick, Douglass (Montgomery), New Hanover, and Marlborough.
Paper will not be accepted from businesses or organizations. Only paper, not cardboard or CDs, will be accepted. Staples and paper clips need not be removed. All shredding takes place on location. The event will be held rain or shine.
“In addition to protecting your identity through secure shredding, this event also offers environmental benefits,” Toepel said. “All shredded paper is recycled. Every ton of recycled paper saves 7,000 gallons of water, 4,000 kilowatts of energy, and 380 gallons of oil,” she added. “We can protect the Earth and ourselves from identity theft at the same time: a no-brainer.”
