PennDOT Sets Open House On Roundabout Plans
SALFORD PA – A public open house to review plans by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, to build a roundabout to improve traffic safety at the intersection of Old Skippack Road and Schwenksville and Shelly roads in Upper Salford Township, will be held June 12 (2019, Wednesday) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the township municipal building, 1441 Salford Station Rd.
Under the project, the agency proposes to construct a single-lane roundabout at the intersection, relocate existing utilities, and install new drainage facilities. The result is intended to reduce angle crashes and vehicular speeds, increase driver sight distances, and alleviate congestion. Construction bids are expected to open in Fall 2020.
PennDOT expects to present an update on the status and progress of the project. Plans will be on display, and those who attend can circulate among them to gather information from and discuss the project with, the agency’s design team.
An earlier meeting planned for May 29 was re-scheduled due to weather conditions.
