New Tech Tools Benefit YWCA Summer Campers

LEARNING MORE WITH NEW TOOLS – New mobile learning tools – eight new iPads, and 12 augmented reality merge cubes – are being used in this year’s YWCA Tri-County Area summer camps to teach Pottstown School District students in grades 5-8 more about combining technology with creativity, arts, and science. The devices were purchased “through a generous collaboration with (the) Tri-County Community Network (TCN),” the YWCA reported Tuesday (July 2, 2019). The C2 camp, as it’s called, was developed by TCN and other area youth service providers in 2016. Now it offers six-week half-day sessions that introduce participants to tennis, gardening, health and wellness, cooking, financial management, achievement and leadership, art, and reading. Camp leaders emphasize the value of teamwork.
