Expect Lane Closures On 663, As Paving Begins

PENNSBURG PA – Drivers in Pennsburg Borough on Route 663, between Washington and Seminary streets, will encounter about two weeks of weekday lane closures controlled by flaggers – beginning Monday (Sept. 23, 2019) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and continuing through Oct. 11 (Friday) – as crews for the Upper Hanover Authority pave the highway.

The authority has permission to do the work under a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation highway occupancy permit.

  • Additionally, PennDOT warned a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 between 7th and 8th streets from Monday through Friday (Sept. 27) daily from from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work being completed by PECO Energy, under a separate permit.

Travelers are advised to allow extra time when moving through the work area. Backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are depend on weather conditions, PennDOT said.
