PNC Bank Office Robbed; Police Seek Suspect
POTTSTOWN PA – The PNC Bank branch office at 1535 E. High St., about 1/3 of a mile west of the Lower Pottsgrove township line, was robbed Friday (Sept. 27, 2019) at 4:42 p.m. by a so-far-unidentified black male, the Pottstown Police Department reported Monday (Sept. 30) on its Facebook page. No one was injured during the crime, it added.
The department is asking for public help in providing information about the robbery, or identifying the alleged suspect, whose images were captured in video surveillance footage (at top). The man was reported to be dressed in all-black clothing, including a black-colored skull cap. A black-and-white patterned white bandanna is seen covering his face.
Police said the suspect did not mention a weapon when he demanded money from a clerk. He obtained an “undetermined amount” of currency, the report stated, and then fled the scene on a mountain-style bicycle that was white or silver in color and was equipped with a red- or orange-colored rear gear sprocket.
Call Det. Cpl. Michael Breslin at the police department with information: 610-970-6577.
