Hanover Street Crossing Closed Until Friday

POTTSTOWN PA – Continued work by Norfolk Southern Railroad to upgrade a rail crossing on Hanover Street in the borough means a portion of the highway, between High Street and U.S. Route 422, will remain closed to traffic until sometime Friday (Oct. 18, 2019) night, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Local access is being maintained up to the construction zone, PennDOT said. Otherwise, Hanover Street drivers are being detoured over High Street, Route 100 and Route 724 to navigate around the closure. They’re advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area, because the agency claims backups and delays will occur.

Progress of the work depends on weather conditions, it added.
