Beam and Bridge Work to Affect 422 Next Week
KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Daytime lane restrictions and overnight lane closures will affect travelers on U.S. Route 422 next Monday through Saturday (Nov. 11-16, 2019), across portions of Limerick, Upper Providence, West Norriton, Upper Merion, and Lower Providence townships, as contractors for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation work in separate areas on bridge construction and bridge beam placement, PennDOT’s District 6 office reported.
Bridge construction will require lane restrictions and lane closures, some with flagging, near 422:
- Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on Troutman Road, between Ashenfelter Road and Groff Circle, in Upper Providence;
- Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on Upper Indian Head Road, between Cider Mill Road and Winding Ridge Road, in Upper Providence; and
- Monday through Saturday, right-lane closures will occur at unspecified times on Evergreen Road, between Lightcap Road and Rupert Road, in Limerick.
The schedule for bridge beam placement requires overnight eastbound 422 right-lane closures:
- Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following mornings, between its Oaks and U.S. Route 202 interchanges.
Drivers should allow additional time for travel in construction zones. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT said. Contractor schedules depend on weather conditions.
