422 West Lane Restrictions Saturday Near Oaks

UPPER PROVIDENCE PA – Westbound lane restrictions are scheduled Saturday (Nov. 16, 2019) on U.S. Route 422 for daylight hours, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., between the highway’s interchanges at Route 363 and Oaks (at top), according to the King of Prussia PA-based District 6 office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The work to repair and resurface the affected portion of 422 comes at a time when traffic to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, just off the Oaks exit at Station Avenue, is expected to be busy with the first day of the two-day National Dog Show. A similar eastbound lane restriction was put in place Thursday (Nov. 14) during overnight hours.

PennDOT is milling the existing road surfaces, and repaving and sealing them with new asphalt, to provide drivers with a smoother ride. Travelers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. Slowdowns will occur, PennDOT warned. The schedule of its contractor, Allan Myers LP of Worcester PA, depends on weather conditions.

The work is part of an overall $13.2 million project covering about 50 miles of state roads.
