Slippery Snow Began Saturday Just As Predicted

ON ROUTES 23 EAST AND 100 NORTH – Snow began falling Saturday (Jan. 18, 2020) at 10 a.m. on Route 23 in Coventryville PA, near the Berks and Chester county border, just as experts for AccuWeather predicted earlier. The fine white powder was mixed with ice crystals and created enough slipperiness, even on pre-treated roads, to ensure drivers exercised caution and slowed their vehicles.

By the time drivers progressed from 23 East onto Route 100 North, the snowfall became significantly heavier. In West Pottsgrove PA outside the Upland Square Shopping Center, car wheels were spinning across the intersection of 100 at Upland Square Drive and State Street as drivers struggled to gain traction on the roadway.
