Pottstown Cheerleaders Compete in Championships
REMAKING POTTSTOWN HISTORY – For the first time in 15 years, members of the Pottstown High School cheerleading team participated in competition during the recent Pioneer Athletic Conference Cheer Championships. The close of their routine included a rare double-crossing toss of two squad members, in a performance that earned the team third place in the small squad division, and fifth place overall. The PHS Trojan team (at top), led by Head Coach Megan Miller and assisted by Emily Jerdon, consists this year of Marisa Walker, Madison Friedman, Devyn Lopez, Kirstin McCalicher, Mari Pearson, Niaisha Elliott Moore, Kaelyn Draucker, Emily McCollum, Cynae Hills, Jayniana Williams, Natalia Brown, Keyora Frazier, and Mackenzie Moser. In a neighborly show of support, members of the Pottsgrove High School cheer team – which did not compete in the championships – attended the event to cheer on the Pottstown cheerers.
