Dispatchers Report Hilltop Road Electric Fire
WIRE FIRE ON HILLTOP ROAD – Employees of Osmose Utility Services Inc. were working Tuesday (March 10, 2020) at about 11:51 a.m. on Hilltop Road in Lower Pottsgrove when Montgomery County dispatchers reported an electrical fire occurred atop utility poles lining Hilltop near Cedar Hill Road. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, but one first responder said a wire had burned. It was seen laying on the ground and across a tree. Volunteer firefighters from the Ringing Hill and Sanatoga companies responded (at top), and closed Hilltop between Cedar Hill and Brooke roads, as well as Cedar Hill at North Keim Street. A Metropolitan Edison truck arrived about a half-hour later, and a worker began replacing the downed wire. It was unknown how many, if any, homes were without power during the period.
