Need to Contact Borough Hall? E-mail's The Way
During the coronavirus outbreak, Schwenksville officials will rely on e-mail communications

SCHWENKSVILLE PA – Borough Council is looking ahead to a scheduled April 9 meeting, its recent E-Pathways newsletter reports, but council members acknowledge they face two different problems in attempting what they hope will be their first online session. Beyond ensuring they have the ability to conduct a virtual meeting, they also must find a method that includes the public.

The borough says its solicitor and state officials are working together to offer public access to a prospective online meeting, and to receive public comments. Council intends to announce as soon as possible, both at its website and in the newsletter, how plans for the April 9 meeting can proceed.

What they will not do, in light of Gov. Tom Wolf’s stay-at-home orders to state residents, is transact business in person, the newsletter added.

Borough Hall has been closed to the public, and its staff and council President Darren Rash are opting to work primarily by e-mail. Contact borough Manager Anne Klepfer at aklepfer@schwenksville-pa.org; Secretary-Treasurer Gail Phillips at gail@schwenksville-pa.org; and Rash at DarrenR@schwenksville-pa.org.

Those who “absolutely need” to reach borough government by phone should call the borough Authority answering service at 610-287-7772 and leave a message. Anyone with a true emergency should call 9-1-1.
