Portion of Zieglerville Road Set to Close Monday
LOWER FREDERICK PA – A portion of Zieglerville Road, between Gravel Pike and Goshen Road, will be closed Monday (April 20, 2020) from 8 a.m. to about 3 p.m. as a crew working on behalf of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation removes accumulated debris from beneath the bridge over Goshenhoppen Creek, the Lower Frederick Township website reported.
Local traffic needing to access Zieglerville Road should do so from the Goshen Road intersection, it added.
PennDOT recently conducted an inspection at the bridge and discovered that a variety of items floating through the creek had closed one of the bridge openings. It scheduled Monday to pull the debris out and haul it away.
Coincidentally almost three weeks earlier, PennDOT’s District 6 office noted, workers representing the department also were scheduled to be at the Zieglerville Road and Gravel Pike intersection, for milling and paving operations that stretched north on Route 29 through Lower and Upper Frederick, Marlborough, and Upper Hanover townships.
