Pottsgrove Free Meals Count Up Over Last Week
LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Volunteers for the Pottsgrove School District distributed 8,130 breakfast and lunch meals Monday (May 18, 2020) during the 10th consecutive week of its effort to ensure district students age 18 and younger are sufficiently fed, Co-Curricular Programs and Community Relations Director Gary DeRenzo reported.
The meals count was 740 units higher than the previous week, the statistics show. Weekly differences in some distributions, particularly those during holiday-shortened weeks, was a discussion topic during the Board of School Directors’ May 12 meeting, as were questions over whether the program can be extended into summer months.
The following totals of meals distributions at both district sites, its Lower Pottsgrove and West Pottsgrove elementary schools, were supplied by DeRenzo:
