SANATOGA PA – The pending departure of Lower Pottsgrove Police Chief Michael Foltz will prompt the township Board of Commissioners to consider several police-related agenda items during its meeting Thursday night (June 4, 2020) beginning at 7 p.m. on the Zoom conferencing platform, according to the board agenda. It anticipates commissioners will consider:

  • Approving and executing its completed retirement agreement with Foltz, who will officially retire from the department on June 12 after 32 years of service there;
  • Appointing Foltz’s chosen second-in-command, Lt. William “Wil” James, as acting police chief effective June 13 (Saturday);
  • Appointing the department’s administrative assistant, Jennifer Griffith, as its right-to-know officer; and
  • Hiring Safe City Solutions LLC, a Perkasie PA-based consulting firm that deals with public safety issues, to conduct a review and evaluation of police department operations, management, and staffing at a cost not to exceed $12,000.

The meeting is free to attend online and open to the public at Zoom Meeting ID “847 8455 1588” using password “709165.” Obtaining and using the necessary Zoom computer software is free, and it automatically installs in a web browser.
