Police Investigate Collegeville Property Damage

COLLEGEVILLE PA – Members of the criminal investigation division of the Upper Providence Police Department said Friday (June 12, 2020) they continue to look into damage caused last month to the exterior siding of a Collegeville home, which may be related to the alleged firing of a gunshot, the department’s CrimeWatch website indicated.

The damage was reported to police May 17 at about 1:30 p.m. by the resident of a home in the 100 block of Persimmon Drive, who said “a projectile struck the exterior siding of the residence.” The resident also told officers a sound like a gunshot had been heard earlier the same day, at about 2 a.m.

The department’s report does not provide any details about or tentative results from the division’s investigation since then, but it called Friday for “assistance from any member of the public who may have pertinent information to share concerning the matter.”

If you know something that may be helpful, police hope you’ll contact the department at 610-933-7899 and refer to incident report No. 68-20-02828.
