POTTTSTOWN PA – A video production of the 140th commencement ceremony at Pottstown High School, for its Class of 2020, was released Friday (June 19, 2020) and published to YouTube (above).
It recognizes the “hard work and achievements of every senior,” the school district said, and individually acknowledges each of the 194 graduates by including their personal awarding of diplomas to the cheers and applause of family members and friends dear to them.
The production includes a message of welcome by high school Principal Danielle McCoy, introductions of the salutatorian and valedictorian by district Superintendent Dr. Stephen Rodriguez, remarks by Salutatorian David Hicks and Valedictorian Winni Weng, and announcements of those who will be joining the military after graduation, those who have received special honors among the class, and those who were members of the Pottstown Promise Early College Program.
Then the class is accepted for graduation, and diplomas are awarded and recognized. The program closes with a traditional mantle ceremony, and closing comments by Rodriquez and McCoy.
