Responders Called Early Monday to Country Club

CALLED TO COUNTRY CLUB – First responders from the Pottstown Fire Department, Ringing Hill and Sanatoga fire companies, Pottstown police, fire police units, and Goodwill Ambulance were called Monday (June 22, 2020) at 4:32 a.m. to Brookside Country Club, 850 N. Adams St. (at top and below), to investigate what was initially reported by Montgomery County emergency dispatchers as a building fire. Three teams of firefighters, some carrying breathing equipment, used the club’s event room doors to enter and search through portions of the building over the course of about 45 minutes. There is no official word yet on what, if anything, they discovered. Neither flames or smoke were visible to onlookers at the front of the building. Equipment and personnel from outside the borough began clearing the scene at about 5:30 a.m., and the last unit left at about 5:50 p.m., according to dispatchers’ information.
