Township Seeks Bids for Trash Hauling Contract
SANATOGA PA – Lower Pottsgrove is again looking for a business to haul away its property owners’ residential and commercial solid waste and recycling materials.
The township in a Monday (June 22, 2020) legal advertisement called for bidders to submit their most well-crunched numbers in the hope of serving as its trash and recyclables hauler for a minimum of three years, with options for two individual, one-year extensions.
The current hauler is J.P. Mascaro and Sons of Audubon, which has held the contract over many years, and most recently since 2017. The township currently charges customers $137.50 annually for same-day curbside collections of garbage and recycled goods.
Bids are due to the township by Aug. 10, and the township Board of Commissioners will have until Oct. 2 to evaluate them and make a decision, or not. As the legal notice reports, the board reserves the right to “to reject any and all proposals and waive any informalities in the bid.”
Board members approved advertising for hauling bids during their May 21 meeting. The board canceled earlier scheduled plans to hold a meeting Thursday (June 25). Instead, it is next scheduled to meet July 6 (Monday) at the municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd.
