LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A male victim, whose name, age, and hometown are not being disclosed, escaped injury Friday (June 26, 2020) just before 8 p.m. on Sanatoga Station Road in Lower Pottsgrove after the vehicle he occupied was allegedly shot at by an unknown assailant in a white-colored sports utility vehicle, the township Police Department reported on its CrimeWatch website.
The victim told police he was on Sanatoga Station Road when the SUV “came behind him at a high rate of speed.” As it “passed by the victim, one shot was fired into the victim’s vehicle,” police said. The report did not indicate where on or in the vehicle the bullet landed.

Sanatoga Station Road is located on the township’s southeast side, runs for about three-quarters of a mile between Porter Road and South Pleasant View Road, and generally parallels both the Schuylkill River and the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks there. Properties along the highway are primarily industrial in nature.
The highway has previously been the scene of other gun-related violence. In January 2014, three men were convicted of murder for the shooting death, in the 2100 block of Sanatoga Station Road, of a 19-year-old West Pottsgrove resident. He had been the unarmed target of a home invasion, in which his abductors believed they would discover money and drugs.
