Walk-Up Virus Testing Continues Into Third Week

NORRISTOWN PA – Coronavirus testing for any Montgomery County resident interested in receiving it continued Monday (June 29, 2020) into a third consecutive week at locations in Pottstown, Norristown, and Blue Bell, according to the county Board of Commissioners. However, the Blue Bell site will soon change how it provides services, it added.

The county effort persists “so that anyone who needs or wants to be tested can be tested, whether or not they have symptoms,” board Chair Dr. Valerie A. Arkoosh said. The effort, she added, was part of a “focus on early detection and containment of any new outbreaks.”

COVID-19 testing through the county is available, weather permitting, by appointment only, and as supplies allow:

In Pottstown, with walk-up testing Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weather permitting and by appointment only at the county Office of Public Health Center, 364 King St. Those who want to be tested can call 610-970-2937 between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. or until all appointment slots are filled. Spanish-speaking operators and sign language interpreters are available;

In Norristown, with walk-up testing Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weather permitting and by appointment only at the Norristown Regional Health Center, 1401 Dekalb St. Those who want to be tested can call 610-592-0680 starting at 8:30 a.m. until all slots are filled. Spanish-speaking operators are available; and

In Blue Bell. Tuesday (June 30) represents the last day drive-through testing will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the central campus of Montgomery County Community College, 340 Dekalb Pike. Although the drive-through will close at day’s end it will be replaced next week by a campus walk-up site, the county reported. Those who want to be tested can call 610-631-3000 starting at 8 a.m. to register for an appointment.

No treatments are given on-site at any location. Additional testing sites, some of which operate during weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), can be found on a county map, here.

Individuals who have been tested, or who are identified as a direct contact of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, and have received a call from the county’s ‘Results Center’ may return the call to 610-278-5923 to find out their results or status. All information discussed on the call is strictly confidential and is used only to trace COVID-19 cases.
