Ask for Pottstown Hospital Maternity Records
POTTSTOWN PA – If you have medical records being kept by or at Pottstown Hospital’s Maternity and Women’s Health Center, 1600 E. High St., you can request copies, the hospital stated Sunday (July 5, 2020) in a newspaper advertisement.
The ad announced the center will close Aug. 14. The closure is part of a layoff-and-cost-reduction plan put into motion June 16 by hospital owner Tower Health of West Reading PA.
Copies of medical records can be obtained by calling the hospital at 610-327-7550, it reported.
“There is no deadline for former or current patients of the Pottstown Hospital Maternity department to get copies of their medical records. Pottstown Hospital will retain these records according to state regulations and remain available for patients when requested,” the hospital added in a July 14 statement to The Post.
Because the center will no longer be in operation after the August date, the ad also noted that anyone needing additional maternity care should “discuss your healthcare needs with your physician.”
