Fete en Blanc Celebration Canceled Due to Pandemic

SEPTEMBER FESTIVITIES CANCELED – The 2020 edition of Pottstown’s Fete en Blanc celebration, which had been scheduled for Sept. 18 (Friday), has been canceled by its sponsors, Pottstown Area Industrial Development Inc. and the Hobart’s Run neighborhood improvement initiative, they announced Tuesday (July 7). The announcement acknowledged “ongoing uncertainty and safety concerns related to COVID-19.” It continued: “Our thorough discussions included evaluation of other communities’ decisions regarding similar, large-scale events and related Covid-19 logistical considerations. While we are truly sad about canceling this beautiful, popular end-of-summer event for 2020, the safety and well-being of our community is foremost in our minds.” Planning has already begun for 2021, sponsors added, with the hope of making the event “bigger and better than ever before … Together we will get through this challenging time, and we look forward to seeing you at a future celebration.”
