Expect Stops If Driving Route 63 Monday in Upper Salford
UPPER SALFORD PA – Fifteen-minute traffic stops are scheduled next Monday (July 27, 2020) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Route 63 in Upper Salford Township (at top and right), between Long Mill Road and Shady Lane, for line striping operations. It’s part of a project replacing three bridges over Unami and Ridge Valley creeks, and the Perkiomen Creek East Branch, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT reported. The schedule depends on adequate weather. Work on the project will follow Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance, as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan.
In addition to the periodic traffic stoppages, a single-lane pattern remains in effect on Route 63 between Long Mill Road and Shady Lane through late 2020 for construction of the bridge over the East Branch. The bridges over the Unami Creek and Ridge Valley Creek were replaced and reopened in December 2019.
H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the $9.5 million project. It is expected to be completed in spring of 2021.
