Continuing Work: 422 West Between Royersford and Sanatoga

LIMERICK PA – Westbound U.S. Route 422 on a portion of five miles across Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, between its Royersford-Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges, will be reduced beginning Sunday (Aug. 2) through Friday (Aug. 7) to a single lane for concrete patching and conduit installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

The work schedule is:

  • Sunday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon, alternating left- and right-lane closures will be in place on westbound 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road;
  • Friday from 7 p.m. until Saturday (Aug. 8) at 4 p.m., alternating left- and right-lane closures will be in place on westbound 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because PennDOT said backups and delays will occur. All activities depend on acceptable weather.

Over a two-year period PennDOT contractor H&K Group Inc. of Skippack will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing 422 pavement; perform bridge deck repairs, concrete and joint patching, sealing and drainage improvements; install new guide rail and rumble strips; and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.

Troutman Road work continues as well

Additionally, Troutman Road under 422, between Ashenfelter Road and Arcola Road in Upper Pottsgrove Township, will be reduced to a single lane with flagging on Monday (Aug. 3), through Friday daily from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for bridge reconstruction, the agency reported.
