Lane Restrictions Next Week in Upper Providence, Pennsburg

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Utility construction continues throughout next week in Pennsburg, and a bridge inspection is scheduled for Monday in Upper Providence Township, both according to the King of Prussia-based District 6 office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Lane closures are scheduled weekdays from Monday (Aug. 3) through Aug. 31 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily for utility improvements conducted on behalf of PECO Energy on a portion of Route 29 between 8th and 10th streets in Pennsburg borough, the agency said. PECO is performing the work under a PennDOT highway occupancy permit.

Additionally, a bridge inspection-related lane restriction is scheduled Monday (Aug. 3) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a portion of Route 29 between Starr and Walnut streets across Upper Providence Township and Phoenixville borough, it added.

At both locations, drivers are urged to be cautious and allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. PennDOT reported backups and delays will occur. All activities depend on acceptable weather, it added.

Where applicable the work will meet guidelines issued by the national Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health, as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan.
