Tree Fall Sparks Electrical Fire Early Wednesday

NEW HANOVER SQUARE ROAD ELECTRICAL FIRE – Sanatoga and Ringing Hill fire company volunteers (at top left) were roused Wednesday (Aug. 5, 2020) at 4:36 a.m. as Montgomery County emergency dispatchers reported an electrical fire on the west side of New Hanover Square Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, about a tenth of a mile north of Bliem Road. A fallen tree crossed live power lines, sparking a small fire that slowly burned through branches and leaves. State police stopped by the scene, and a utility crew later arrived to handle the electrical issue. There was a limited amount of traffic in the area at the time; it safely passed the incident in both directions on a single lane.
