Organic Produce Benefits Upper Pottsgrove Families

HELP FROM THE GROUND, UP – Calista Faust and Claudia Dolan, student managers of the GreenAllies‘ non-profit organic farm on Upper Pottsgrove Township open space at Prout Farm Park, Moyer Road, recently visited Cpl. Albert Werner of the township police department to donate five bags of organically grown vegetables. Department officers, in turn, delivered them to families they know to be in need within Upper Pottsgrove. Products from the organic farm also are available during the Friday farmers markets scheduled for Aug. 14 and 28 from 4-7 p.m. at Althouse Arboretum, 1794 Gilbertsville Rd. GreenAllies manages the arboretum in partnership with the township.
