PECO Bill-Payers Urged to Qualify for Assistance
POTTSTOWN PA – PECO Energy customers in western Montgomery County and across southeastern PA can take advantage of flexible payment options and expanded financial assistance available as a result of “significant economic and financial hardships” created by the coronavirus pandemic, the company said Wednesday (Aug. 19, 2020)
PECO reported it “developed bill relief options to assist customers,” intended to help them “get back on track with paying their bills while avoiding building up large outstanding balances that may result in an additional financial burden in the future.” Those most likely to be affected, it added, include the newly unemployed, most vulnerable communities, and small business owners.
Many customers who were not eligible earlier for financial assistance may now be able to participate in new or expanded programs. Income-qualified customers who have never before enrolled in the company’s Customer Assistance Program are now eligible to have their total outstanding balance forgiven. Residential customers can easily enroll in a payment plan online, here, and learn more about all available financial assistance, here.
Customers should “take action and enroll in programs today,” PECO senior vice president and Chief Customer Officer Funmi Williamson said. So far “only two percent of eligible customers have taken advantage of … flexible payment options. We strongly encourage customers to contact us to enroll in this plan with zero down and no interest.”
