Pottstown Man Charged in Alleged Child Porn Possession
NORRISTOWN PA – A 20-year-old Pottstown man is among three individuals arrested on felony child pornography charges following separate investigations, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said Thursday (Aug. 27, 2020).
Charged with 10 felony counts of possessing child pornography and criminal use of a communications facility is Jacob T. Mitchell, the DA’s office reported. The county Detective Bureau alleges it found 86 images depicting child pornography on a laptop computer, external hard drive, and cell phone seized June 23 at Mitchell’s residence under a search warrant. New Hanover Township Police also were involved in the case, court records indicate.
Also arrested in unrelated alleged child pornography incidents reported by Steele were two other men: Galdino De La Cruz, 32, of West Norriton; and Aaron Domsky, 19, of Upper Dublin Township.
Detectives received an alert on Mitchell from a Google-generated CyberTip during April, Steele claimed. The tip was said to have reported 20 video and still photo files of potential child pornography, some involving girls age 10 and younger, were being stored by one of its users. Subsequent investigation traced the storage account to Mitchell, detectives alleged.
Mitchell was arraigned last Thursday (Aug. 20) before Magisterial District Justice Edward C. Kropp, court records also show. He was released after Kropp set his unsecured bail at $25,000. A preliminary hearing, also before Kropp in his Pottstown courtroom, has been scheduled for Oct. 14.
