Collegeville Scheduled Utility Installation Restricts Traffic

COLLEGEVILLE PA – Lane closures on Route 29 began Friday (Aug. 28, 2020) and are expected to continue into October between Main Street and 9th Avenue, and Main and Charles streets, respectively, as work crews install utilities on behalf of the borough, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

Restrictions are planned:

  • Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on Route 29 between Main and 9th;
  • Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on Route 29 between Main and Charles; and
  • Sundays through Fridays overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning on Route 29 between Main and Charles.

Borough government is conducting this project under a PennDOT highway occupancy permit, the agency said. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Backups and delays will occur, it warned. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
