Expect 422 West Single Lane Next Week, Weekend in Limerick

LIMERICK PA – Westbound U.S. Route 422 will be reduced to a single lane next week and weekend between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road, and at its Limerick and Sanatoga interchanges, for concrete patching, pavement sealing and the installation of conduit installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reported.

The work schedule on 422 west is:

  • Tuesday through Friday (Sept. 8-11, 2020) daily from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon; and
  • Friday (Sept. 11) from 7 p.m. to Sept. 14 (Monday) at 2 p.m.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. PennDOT anticipates backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. Work will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance, including a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan.

PennDOT contractor H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the $19.1 million project. Over a two-year period it will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing U.S. 422 pavement; perform bridge deck repairs, concrete and joint patching, sealing and drainage improvements; install new guide rail and rumble strips; and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.
