Warrants Issued For Arrests in Separate Alleged Theft, Check Cases

SANATOGA PA – Lower Pottsgrove police have obtained arrest warrants and are continuing their search for two individuals involved in separate and unrelated cases, regarding theft and bad check charges, respectively. The warrants were issued this week by Magisterial District Justice Edward C. Kropp Sr.

Alleged theft from Lower Pottsgrove garage

A warrant is outstanding for the arrest of Brandy L. Darrow, age 43, of Fleetwood PA, whom the department claims stole several tools June 28 (2020) valued at more than $5,000 from a garage in Lower Pottsgrove Township. The theft was discovered by the victim, and investigated by Det. Sgt. Joseph Campbell.

Surveillance video from a Cash Converters store (its location was not identified) showed Darrow, who worked at the time as a home health care aide, and another male suspect “pawning the stolen items and receiving money, according to the department’s CrimeWatch website.

After being confronted with evidence of the thefts, it added, she resigned from the home health care position. Court records indicate she later failed to appear for a preliminary hearing before Kropp. Darrow is charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and theft by deception.

Bad check distributions alleged

A warrant also was obtained for the arrest of Pottstown resident Christen Allene Williams, age 24, whom police allege “deposited checks to an account that no longer existed.” The three “fraudulent” checks, they added, totaled $1,420.30. The department’s CrimeWatch report did not specify the financial institution affected or its location.

The department reported “several attempts were made to contact this subject, to no avail.” Campbell also was responsible for her arrest. Court records indicate Williams failed to appear for a preliminary hearing, apparently during February before Kropp.

She faces three counts each of passing bad checks and theft by deception.
