Truck Hit-and-Run Damages Douglassville Business

DOUGLASSVILLE PA – An investigation by the Douglass (Berks) Police Department continued Friday (Sept. 4, 2020) into an alleged hit-and-run incident accompanied by property damage that occurred one day earlier (Thursday, Sept. 3) outside a business in the township, the department indicated on its CrimeWatch website. Suspects in the event have already been identified, it added.

“Heavy damage” to the entrance and exit gate of Budget Lock and Storage, 19 Broadmoor Blvd., resulted when actors tried to leave the facility Thursday at about 10:30 p.m. in a box truck, officers said. “The driver of the vehicle left the scene and made no attempt” to notify the business owners, they noted.

The police department responded Friday at about 8 a.m. to a call regarding the incident.
