Expect Daily 422 Lane Closures in Limerick, Lower Pottsgrove

LIMERICK PA – Drivers on U.S. Route 422 can expect to encounter single-lane closures in both directions Monday through Saturday (Sept. 14-18, 2020) between its Royersford-Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges across Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, as Pennsylvania Department of Transportation contractors work on concrete patching, paving, pavement sealing, and installations.

The work schedule, according to PennDOT, includes:

  • Alternating left- and right-lane closures will be in place on westbound 422 Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road, and at the Limerick and Sanatoga interchanges;
  • Alternating left- and right-lane closures will be in place on eastbound 422 Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. between Park Road and Township Line Road, and at the Limerick and Sanatoga interchanges; and
  • Alternating left- and right-lane closures will be in place on westbound 422 Friday from 7 p.m. (Sept. 18) through Monday (Sept. 21) at 2 p.m. between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road, and at the Limerick and Sanatoga interchanges.
  • Additionally, lane restrictions with flagging will occur Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily on Upper Indian Head Road, between Cider Mill Road and Winding Ridge Road, in Upper Providence Township.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.

The work will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance, as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan. H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the $19.1 million project. It is expected to be completed in Summer 2021.
