Limerick Trail Progresses With Added Funding
MORE FUNDING FOR LIMERICK TRAIL – Another section of the PECO TAP Trail in Limerick (at top) took a step closer to completion Tuesday (Sept. 15, 2020), township Manager Daniel Kerr said, as its Board of Supervisors agreed to take reimbursement of previously uncovered expenses there. Trail work has been delayed several months, Kerr reported, as discussions continued on covering the cost of installing fences along part of the route. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation recently agreed to provide additional funding for the fence work, which supervisors happily accepted. The township, over time, intends to connect its network of trails to the more extensive, 120-mile Schuylkill River Trail running north from the Delaware River outside Philadelphia to Frackville in Schuylkill County.
