422, 363 Sites of Pavement Marking Repairs Next Week

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – U.S. Route 422 will be one of several highways restricted overnights next Monday through Thursday (Sept. 21-24, 2020), from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as part of a project to replace or repair raised pavement markings on various highways and ramps throughout the Philadelphia region, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

Pavement markings (at top) are reflective traffic safety measures that increase awareness and visibility during inclement weather or low-light conditions.

The work schedules and locations include:

  • Lane restrictions scheduled Monday through Wednesday in both directions on Route 363, between Egypt Road and its 422 interchange, across West Norriton and Lower Providence townships; and
  • Lane restrictions scheduled Monday through Thursday in both directions on 422 between the Route 363 and Egypt Road interchanges across West Norriton, Lower Providence, and Upper Providence townships.

Portions of U.S. Routes 202 and 30 also will be affected, PennDOT reported. It advised drivers to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Slowdowns can be expected. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. Work on these projects will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidelines.

D.W. Miller Inc. of Huntingdon PA is the general contractor. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed by Summer 2021.
