Pottstown Man Charged with Drug-Related Offenses

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A 23-year-old Pottstown man has been scheduled for a Sept. 30 (2020; Wednesday) preliminary hearing in the borough courtroom of Magisterial District Justice Edward C. Kropp Sr., following the alleged offender’s arrest Friday (Sept. 18) on drug-related charges, the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department reported on its CrimeWatch website.

Nicholas Skidmore is charged with possession of a controlled substance, use or possession or drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness, and on Friday was confined to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA after he was unable to post a cash bail set by Kropp at $10,000, according to court records.

The department stated its officers responded to a county emergency dispatchers’ call Friday at 1:33 p.m. to the 2900 block of East High Street, where it was “reported that an occupied vehicle was blocking another vehicle from moving.” They arrived to find a male, later identified as Skidmore, passed out inside one of the vehicles.

During an investigation, police said, Skidmore was allegedly found “to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.”
