Pottstown High Educator Bachman Wins ‘All-Pro’ Award

POTTSTOWN PA – Andy Bachman, engineering technology teacher at Pottstown High School, has been selected as an Axalta All-Pro Educator, the school announced Wednesday (Sept. 23, 2020). The program, created by Philadelphia-based automotive coatings company Axalta Coating Systems, recognizes teachers “who will challenge students to use their skills and imagination in developing creative solutions to real life problems.”

Bachman’s students “have taken on issues such as eliminating food waste, highway construction traffic safety issues, and child car safety,” the high school stated. “His students have earned awards in STEM education, and received grants and traveled to Ecuador and Kenya to assist in humanitarian projects,” it added.

In Bachman’s honor, Axalta is making a $2,000 donation to the school to purchase school supplies or cover programming costs. It also gave Bachman four tickets to a selected Eagles home game, a reserved parking pass for the game a personalized replica Eagles jersey, a personalized Eagles football, and an invitation for four of his guests to attend the company’s upcoming “Teacher of the Year” event.
