Ready to Save for the Kids’ Education? Start Here
HARRISBURG PA – Families interested in learning more about saving for their children’s future education needs may be interested in participating in a Thursday (Oct. 15, 2020) webinar on Pennsylvania Treasury savings programs, including its new “Keystone Scholars” initiative. The half-hour online session begins at 6 p.m. and is hosted by 24th District state Sen. Bob Mensch.
Mensch’s broad constituency includes residents of the Pottsgrove, Pottstown, Boyertown Area, Perkiomen Valley, and Upper Perkiomen school districts.
The webinar intends to cover the state’s 529 College and Career Savings Program. Its Keystone Scholars gives babies born or adopted in PA after Jan. 1, 2019, a $100 “get started” account to jump-start college savings, plus the PA Savings Pledge, which makes saving fun and rewarding. It also offers the PA ABLE Savings Program, a savings plan for people with disabilities.
