Harbor Freight Tools Plans Pottstown Opening Nov. 14
POTTSTOWN PA – Harbor Freight Tools, a tool retailer founded in southern California during 1977 and now with more than 1,100 stores nationwide, intends to open its 41st Pennsylvania location Nov. 14 (2020; Saturday) at 8 a.m. at 203 Shoemaker Rd., the company said. The store (at top) is located in the West Pottstown Shopping Plaza, which also includes Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and Patient First.
The company expects to employ between 25 and 30 people. Its 15,000-square-foot building will present a “full selection of tools and equipment in categories including automotive, air and power tools, storage, outdoor power equipment, generators, welding supplies, shop equipment, and hand tools,” store Manager Brian Hall said.
“We’re ready to serve customers in Pottstown and all of Montgomery County,” he added. The store has been in renovations over several months, and was expanded in size. It previously housed a furniture and cabinetry business.
Harbor Freight is designated as an essential service during the coronavirus pandemic, and anticipates operating seven days a week: Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Operating hours are likely to expand once the pandemic has passed, according to its media release.
During the COVID-19 crisis, the company said, all Harbor Freight stores have implemented more frequent cleaning. They also are following federal Centers for Disease Control guidelines, including social distancing, to protect customer and employee health and safety.
